2012 Topps Chrome – Luck and RGIII Red Refractors Posted Early!

For last year’s chrome, it took a long time for the top red refractor auto pulls to be posted, with Cam Newton taking a few months. Crazy enough, both RGIII and Luck’s first red refractor auto /5 have already hit ebay. They are attracting more watchers than any other cards on eBay, and that should be no surprise.

For good measure, RGIII also has a gold that has been posted:

After looking at these prices, I can only imagine what the superfractors are going to sell for. Sam Bradford sold for 12K, that was later determined to not be a legit sale. The Luck and RGIII supers might end up coming close to that. Topps Chrome is going nuts and I love every minute of it.

The red refractors are by far my favorite chrome cards every year. In fact, it took me close to two years to find a Peterson red refractor in 2007, even though they were numbered that much higher than they are today. When Topps included autographs numbered to 5 last year, I JUMPED all over the players I was collecting. The red border is almost iconic on its own, and usually looks amazing with whatever subject is on the card. Obviously, I dont have the kind of cash to buy any of the big names this year, but if I did, I would be first in line.

  1. Keep it up man. Love the blog and especially the focus on Topps. (My fav brand) I’ve got two boxes in the mail as I type this and all your updates do is build my excitement. Thanks.

  3. Guess u didnt see my huge argument with topps on twitter for them back dooring tons of chrome. Red auto sets, gold auto sets and over 50 base auto sets

  4. I dont really like the look of that card, to be honest. Many more Paytons look A TON better than that one. But yes, I see your point. Might not be saying that years from now, however.
