If there was one infamous card during the last few months, it was the Bradford Mirror Black 1/1 Logo auto that Panini “somehow” held back for QC, then gave out as a redemption replacement. If there was one card before the logo that generated similar interest, it was the Bradford crown jewel out of 2010 Topps Chrome. Because the Strasburg superfractor had gained national attention with its ridiculous sale earlier in the year, this card was garnering interest as a football equivalent.
Originally, the card was put up for auction in a normal fashion, starting at a low bid and eventually making its way up to a whopping $14,000+ dollars by the end. This sale generated humongous amounts of buzz, especially in the people who knew that the buyer was never bidding with the intention of buying the card. Well, that hasnt stopped every eBay seller with a Bradford 1/1 from listing it at the 14K asking price
, something I find VERY annoying. However, none of them were the Superfractor, and none of them sold anywhere close to where the incomplete Superfractor sale ended up.
Now the Superfractor is back on eBay, this time in Australia of all places, and you guessed, the best offer is listed at that same price it “sold” for before. Im curious to see if this card even sells from an international location, and I am even more interested to see if the person actually pays.
Funny enough, the Chrome Superfractor Auto (not another superfractor) still remains one of the most desirable rookie cards in the industry, and it just goes to show you how much brand recognition really means to collectors. Remember, Chrome costs 50 bucks a box, and yet, its holy grail outsells all the higher end products. Says a lot about things, doesnt it?
Great card, but it really bugs me that the auto runs off the sticker.
Are these 14K sales confirmed?
Was it ever verified that the winning bidder didn’t pay the $14,300? I’ve heard you say that a few times, but do you truly have inside info?
The Australian seller asks for, “no mucking around” on offers.
that card will go good in my collection
I am the owner of this card. It is open to offers. please email me at, rick@butlermarketgardens.com.au
