Jim Thorpe is an american icon, there is no simple way of saying that. Not only was he a great baseball and football player, but he was an olympian in track and field as well. He is credited with trailblazing the path for professional sports in many different ways, and as a result, his signature is worth a TON of money.

Panini has offered his signature in a few products recently, and just the name alone is enough to garner huge final prices. They have also issued a few relics from various game used pieces of Thorpe’s days as a player and star, but they have rarely offered a card that has combined the two.

This card from Timeless treasures should sell for more than any card this year. It features a great looking design, as well as two things that every Thorpe and pre-war collector yearns for. A great looking cut and a relic from Thorpe’s shirt will mean astronomical prices for this card, and I doubt it will be the last produced this year. Panini definitely has a winning card here, despite the rest of this terrible product.
