2012 Allen & Ginter: There Could Not Be a More Timely Checklist Inclusion

Over the weekend, Roger Federer won the biggest tennis tournament of the year. Again.

Most of the time, this would be somewhere near the bottom of things that interest me, but with the upcoming release of 2012 Allen & Ginter, he is a very relevant and timely subject on the base and autograph list. Topps has always gone outside the diamond with much of the content for this set every year, and now that we are starting to get clarity on who is included, Federer caught my eye.

Here is the card:

2012 Allen and Ginter Roger Federer Base Card

Mass case breaker Brent and Becca was lucky enough to score some retail packs that should be hitting stores today and tomorrow, and happened to pull the first Federer auto of the year. Its likely that this autograph is SSPed, and he made the right call getting it on eBay as quickly as possible.

2012 Allen and Ginter Roger Federer Framed Auto

This isn’t the first time that Federer has had signed cards in a product before, but it is the first Topps Ginter auto for the Tennis star. Of course, this means that there will be a tremendous premium for the card, if not only because of the recent tournament win. It doesn’t hurt that the design for the framed autos is quite awesome with the black border and ornate etching style lines. Additionally, in a set where non-baseball cards can go unsigned, this is a great live auto for Topps.

More to come on Ginter as it surfaces tomorrow.

That’s gotta be a 1:50000 pack pull and they get it out of retail. What a fucking joke.
