Leaf Supers Trying to Conjure Chrome Prices

Everyone wants to be Topps when it comes to the superfractor, however you rarely see someone ACTUALLY try to recreate them in their products. Leaf threw caution to the wind when it comes to the Metal set by using both the chromium stock AND Topps’ collector favorite parallel. Personally, I really think the Superfractor design looks terrible and is vastly overused, but the brand premium always brings the big bucks. Thus, I can easily see why Leaf wanted to bring about memories of Superfractors when they created their “Super-prismatic” cards. In all senses, they succeeded, as some of the fringe and casual collectors are thinking they are made by Topps.

They have sold quite well in the cases of the big names, far exceeding their unlicensed brethren. The crown jewel Cam Newton Super 1/1 has just been listed on Ebay with an astronomical price tag, and I am wondering how much it will go for. Although its idiotic to have the card graded as a 1/1 and a superfractor, it should get quite a bit of money when Newton goes number 1 in this year’s draft on the 26th. Funny enough, some of the others are selling at ridiculous prices, with the inserts also getting insane prices for what they are.
