NOT Breaking News: This Card is STILL As Fake As It Was 3 Months Ago

A few months ago, there was a card that surfaced that had a few people confused about how it was possible. A 2004 SPA Larry Fitzgerald Auto Rookie Patch was posted with an odd swatch, but still had SOME sort of grounds in reality. Instead of the usual Arizona Cardinals patch, it was a LOGO patch of the Minnesota Vikings. Because Fitzgerald grew up in Minnesota with Vikings legends Cris Carter and Randy Moss, the douchebag who orignally created this card thought it would definitely be a unique fake if he could pull it off. I posted about it then, and yet, no one did anything about it. That person, Kevin Burge, is a notorious faker/scammer, and responsible for many of the fake 2007 rookie premiere autos that have taken over eBay.  The card was sold through one of his many eBay accounts for a very large price, despite the fact that Upper Deck confirmed that it was fake on their facebook page.

Well, like every fake, it has been reposted on eBay with a HUGE dollar price tag.

People, please, this one HAS BEEN CONFIRMED FAKE BY THE MANUFACTURER. Dont even think twice. Obviously, someone will not do the google search before they buy, and that is where the problem is going to continue.

As I say in each one of these posts, education is the only weapon, and though Beckett doesnt want to go into it when it comes up on twitter, I have no problem highlighting it for all to see.

Seriously, just once, I would like to see “the NUMBER ONE SOURCE in hobby media” get off their pedestal and take a stand.  Yet, as always, they just want everyone to hear the “ALL IS WELL!” alarm that they blare through the pages of their magazine instead of educating on what is really out there.

Unbelievable.

  2. Reported to eBay as fake. Not expecting anything, but you can always hope for miracles. Love the “I did some research” disclaimer in the auction…

  3. Card may very well be fake. I am no expert. However. Larry fitzgerald did wear a vicks chris carter pro bowl jersey at the premier.

  4. Well at least it got remover from eBay, who knows for how long tho.
