Panini Breaks Into Black Friday Market In Big Way

This coming Friday, around the country, there will be millions of people who will go out to retailers everywhere to shop for the ridiculous deals that are usually available specifically for this event. In terms of sports cards, there has been participation in the past from outlets like Blowout and other stores, but never directly from the manufacturers.

This year, Panini is throwing their hat in the ring for people who will shop at their local stores, and even though I am not a fan of the way they produce their cards, I think this is a GREAT idea. When the cards are pretty much a giveaway, for lack of a better term, I have no issues with what they put in the packs. In fact, I applaud them for this type of promotion.

Then, when you see the cards associated with the Super Bowl, I want to give them a standing ovation. Not only are they designed well, but they have pieces of a game that pretty much any collector will salivate over. The Rodgers autographed pylon cards may be worth thousands, depending on how many of them there are, just because of his superb play this year, and the championship run last year.

To get one of these packs, you will need to go to your local participating shop to get them this friday. Check the Panini Blog for all the details available on the promotion.

Here are some of the previews, check these out!

  1. Panini has scored a touchdown with this promotion. Even though I had to buy many cases of stuff I already had in stock in order to get my 1168 Black Friday Packs, I wanted in on this promotion.

I am letting my customers reserve their Free Black Friday Packs with purchases (2011 Threads, Rookies & Stars, Elite, Timeless Treasures, and Prestige) made today. The response has been fantastic. Customers have already reserved over 200 Black Friday Packs.

  2. Some of those are actually pretty nice. ‘Bout time somebody just started using the Pro Bowl jerseys to get a ton more patches out of the jersey itself. Since virtually no one cares about game-worn jerseys of anybody but the very elite players anymore, might as well go with Pro Bowl worn and get a bunch more nice patches that will get more than the typical 2 bucks each.

  3. I love the idea here. Topps is definitely losing out. is there any idea of what rate autos and patches fall?

  4. Collecting In Colorado? Mike’s Stadium Sportscards in Aurora will have 500+ Panini Black Friday packs available starting at 9:00AM. We will have products from all 4 sports available to earn packs with and please call (303) 699-9808 with any questions.

Thanks to Panini for putting this promotion together and we hope to see some sick singles out of our boxes AND from our Black Friday packs!
